It’s nice when the paper flow starts out slowly. You’ll have plenty of time to “practice” before things start getting crazy.

And Debbie, I absolutely agree with you. If I had learned about GTD when I was in elementary school, I would have saved myself tons of stress. At least we can teach it to our children now (my 8-year-old already has her “Someday” folder and several others modeled after mine. SO cute.).

I know that there won’t be that much paper work with just one little one, but you gave me some great ideas on how to get ahead of the games. Thanks!

I think involving children in the process is what makes it fun (and less stressful). When “work” is a family activity, everyone learns something, the work goes more quickly, and then I’m not worried that my children are getting into trouble while I’m getting things done (because we all know how that goes…).

My kids are grown, but I found your words uplifting and inspiring. Getting your kids to help with the forms was especially clever!

I’ve shared this with my wife and, as we move into the beginning of our school year next week, we have printed out your list and have it at the ready.
